After more than a decade of experience as a print and broadcast journalist around New York State and its beautiful Hudson Valley, freelance writer Barbara Reina has combined her down to earth skills as a reporter with her vivid imagination to create her first novel, Two Husbands-One Wife.
She continues to be happily married to her one and only love, Vincent, since 1999.
A native New Yorker, the youngest of three children born and raised in the town of Saugerties, Barbara's large and colorful view of the world and the many personalities she has met along the way have infused her characters with realism in the bold and expansive world of science fiction.
A home-grown Saugertiesian, she grew-up on Austin Avenue in Barclay Heights. Her father worked at IBM in Kingston and her mother owned Saugerties Fitness Center in the village.
Barbara started her writing career in 1984 as a news intern at WDST 100.1 FM. She then worked as a newscaster/reporter for OK-100/WKRT, Cortland, while completing her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Radio/Television Communications with a minor in Journalism at SUNY Cortland.
Upon graduation, she was hired as News Director at WZOZ FM, Oneonta. She was also a newscaster/reporter for WKOJ FM, Middletown and a print reporter for The Wallkill Valley Times, The Daily Freeman and Register-Star.
Her first documentary, The Long-Lost Limericks of Harold Van Santvoord was released in March of 2016. The documentary includes narration by celebrated actor/playwright Stephen Lang and a visit to The School |Jack Shainman Gallery, an internationally-acclaimed art gallery.
On DVD and Blu-ray, Barbara produced and released the documentary: BROUGHT TO LIGHT | Unearthing the History of an African-American Cemetery in Kinderhook, NY in December of 2017. Plans for film showings include the Albany Institute of History and Art in 2018.
Barbara is combining her writing and video skills to produce documentaries, commercials, infomercials, host reels, promotional, educational and realty videos.

At our initial consultation, we will discuss in general terms what your production needs are and how we can work together.
The next step is a storyboard session where we map out and brainstorm how you want the video to look, the impression that you want to leave on the viewer, the scene-by-scene story that you want to tell complete with titles, music and graphics. A deadline date to launch the video is also set at this pre-production meeting.
Plans for filming are coordinated and set with dates, times and locations. Everyone appearing in the video must sign a permission release form provided by Barbara Reina Productions, LLC.
After filming and editing are completed, I will place the completed video in Dropbox for a private viewing by you and person(s) assigned by you to approve the video. Requests to change, add or delete portions of the video may be made by you at this time.
The video will then be launched on YouTube by Barbara Reina Productions, LLC, only after written permission in email is given by you, the client.
At the video launch, I will send you the YouTube link to your video which can be placed on your website, Facebook page, and reputable social media sites.
I look forward to working with you and bringing your project to life.
